Wayne, Pennsylvania Wedding, Amy + James

Amy and James had perfect weather for their afternoon ceremony at St David’s Episcopal Church in Wayne, PA.  After that, we spent some time across the street in an awesome cemetery before heading over to the James’ family homestead - acres of beautiful green.  I was excited to learn that Amy designed her own dress.

They did most of the work for the DJ by picking all of the music and, to put it over the top, James’ friends came to together to form a band that played a hearty set.  I’m pretty sure some AC/DC was mixed in there.  James was totally into it.  If there was a thicker crowd on the dance floor, at one point, I think he would have crowd-surfed.  It was awesome.  Everyone was dancing like it was going out of style.  They rounded out the night with fireworks.  Not the little ones that kids light off on the 4th of July, but the big boy ones.

I'm sure they will love them when they return from Bali. Hope you are feeling better. Too bad we didn't stay for the fireworks. Some wedding!! When Mike gets married you're hired. Su on 06.06.09

New Jersey Baby Portraits, Susannah @ 17 Months

Contrary to popular opinion, New Jersey ain’t that bad.  I finally got up to visit my cousins Mark and Melissa this weekend and met their precious baby girl Susanna (A.K.A. Zuzu).  She’s 17-months-old, full of smiles and quite a smarty-pants.  We ate good food, relaxed, went to the garden store, read stories, ate more good food, and relaxed some more.  I kept my cameras near by most of the time and have posted some of my favorite images.  I hope to get back soon to chronicle more of Zuzu’s adventures and would really like to get her to start saying “how you doin’, like a true Jersey girl.

Occoquan Wedding, Cynthia + Jon

Cynthia and Jon had a nice Friday afternoon ceremony at St. Raymond of Penafort in Springfield, Virginia followed by a reception with close friends and family at Rockledge Mansion in Occoquan, Virginia.  As long as I have lived in Washington (five years, give or take) I have driven past Occoquan on I-95 countless times but had never stopped there.  The town is charming and worth a visit.
