Baltimore Wedding, Meg + Mike

Wedding Photos and blog text by associate photographer M.N. Golden for Jay Premack Weddings

On Saturday I had the good fortune to spend the day with Meg and Mike as they tied the knot in Charm City.  I knew these guys were special - it’s not every day you get to photograph a beautiful blond marrying a Clark Kent look-alike - but as the day went on, it became apparent just how special they were.  After they made it official, Meg and Mike hopped into a Rolls Royce and drove through the city, toasting the passersby.  They looked classic, like something from a 1930s movie.  We ended up at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles.  The entire bridal party and I made our way down to the field for some fun portraits in one of the coolest settings I’ve ever photographed.  After that, we made our way up to the reception for a little dancing, toasting and cake-cutting.  It was a wonderful night with a few surprises (the Orioles’ mascot stopped by at one point to wish the couple well) and with so many smiles and so much love going around, it made my job as photographer easy.

Hotel Monaco Wedding, Megan + Billy

I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Megan and Billy at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria which was followed by an intimate reception at the Hotel Monaco.  The whole day went off without a hitch thanks to the planning skills of Sarah-Jane Bennett of All Events Perfect.  The day started out at the hotel with everyone getting dolled up.  Though, one of my favorite images of Megan was shot before she had an ounce of makeup on.  She and Billy were totally relaxed and we had a lot of fun throughout the day.  I had a hard time staying at a dozen images for this post.  I guess everyone will just have to wait a few more weeks to see the rest of the images.  In the meantime, please sign the online image gallery guestbook to be notified when rest of the photos are available.

Feature Image in Double Truck Magazine

Just a quick post to share one of my images that was selected to be showcased in Zuma Press’ DOUBLEtruck Magazine’s Summer 2008, Issue Twelve.  The magazine is financed by Zuma Press in an effort to support great journalism and photography as well as to promote work of its photographers to the top editors in the photo industry.  The image came from an April protest by members of the Michigan National Socialist Movement in Washington, DC who began near the White House marched up to Capitol Hill all the while surrounded by counter-protestors and a phalanx of police.  I was not on assignment that day but was really curious to see people taking advantage of their first amendment rights.

Joey Puloné said: Nice photo, Jay. Good emotion. I love photographing these types of events as I'm sure all of us do. I wonder why they call themselves socialists? I know Hitler led a Socialist party when he started, but wasn't he a fascist. Man, next time, tell the demonstrators to get their terms straight! Ha, Ha, Ha! on 10.02.08
